Molecular systems, responding to stimuli (photons, electrons, etc.), have gained importance and represent an important field of research, from chemistry to physics and biology. Applications in materials, health, energy, are foreseen.
The design of molecules, synthesis, structure and property investigation, are needed. Also, building molecular assemblies and controlling interactions at nano- and meso-scale are among current challenging hot topics. Hence, joining forces of researchers of different backgrounds is essential.
Therefore French and Japanese scientific consortia contributing to these subjects are organizing PERMolMat – Japan Japan-France Workshop on Photo-Electro-Responsive Molecules and Materials - From molecular building blocks to active materials controlled by photons and electrons. The workshop aims at gathering researchers (mainly from both countries, but not only) to present their recent work in this field, to brainstorm and to discuss about further perspectives and cooperation.
Keynote lectures, oral and poster presentations will be given during this 3-day meeting in ENS Paris-Saclay, in its new premises in the heart of the Paris-Saclay scientific cluster. Contributions of oral and poster presentations are warmly welcomed.
In connection with responsive molecules and materials, the following topics are expected to be at the center of the presentations and discussion, without excluding other related ones:
- Chemical synthesis of molecules, nano-systems, molecular and hybrid materials, supramolecular structures
- Self-assembly, nano- and meso-scale organization
- Structural characterization (X-ray diffraction, microscopy, etc.)
- Ultrafast spectroscopy and excited state dynamics
- Nano- and meso-scale interactions and phenomena
- Plasmonics
- Circularly polarized luminescence
- Energy and charge transfer
- Single molecule detection
- Theoretical chemistry
